Service Description
The perinatal period can be deeply transformative — emotionally, physically, psychologically, and relationally. Alongside joy and excitement can also come anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, uncertainty, grief, burnout, loneliness, or a sense of losing connection with yourself. Many women feel pressure to simply “cope” while quietly carrying the invisible emotional weight of motherhood. These 1:1 sessions provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore your experiences and reconnect with yourself through every stage of motherhood and matrescence. Together, we create space for whatever is present for you — whether that is anxiety during pregnancy, fear surrounding birth, emotional adjustment after baby, relationship changes, nervous system overwhelm, or simply the complexity of becoming and being a mother. Matrescence refers to the emotional, psychological, hormonal, relational, and identity transition that occurs through becoming a mother. Much like adolescence, matrescence can bring profound change and vulnerability, yet many women move through it without adequate support or understanding. Therapy can offer space to slow down, process these changes, and feel more grounded and connected to yourself through this transition. Areas of support may include: * Pregnancy anxiety and overwhelm * Birth fears and preparation * Matrescence and identity changes * Postpartum emotional wellbeing * Relationship changes after baby * Nervous system regulation * ADHD and motherhood * Returning to self after motherhood * General mental health support during the perinatal period Sessions may also include Birth Story Integration support — a gentle space to process, honour, and make sense of your birth experience. Birth can stay with us long after the moment itself, and many women carry emotions around their birth that have never been fully spoken about or witnessed. Whether your birth felt empowering, traumatic, unexpected, confusing, beautiful, grief-filled, or difficult to process, your story deserves space to be explored with compassion and care. Together, we gently work through the emotional impact of your experience, your nervous system responses, and the meaning your birth may hold for you now. This is a space where you do not need to minimise your feelings, hold everything together, or navigate it all alone. Just come as you are.
